Photograph of an aerial view of Hughes Aircraft Manufacturing Plant, ca.1950. Above the center, a series of large buildings in which the roof of the largest one is labeled "HUGHES". These are surrounded by a parking lot full of parked automobiles. Additional buildings can be seen in the center and in the right foreground. In the left, adjacent to the plant, a vast airplane runway is observable where a few airplanes are either visible by the runway or parked next to one of the buildings. A second parking lot area is visible in the left foreground. A paved street can be noticeable, to the right, along the site where further to the right, on a more elevated ground, a church and a residential area is observable. More residential areas cover the area further in the right and left background, to the left of the airplane runway.
