Photograph caption dated January 1, 1957 reads, "Checks detail - Soden checks framework of Statue of Liberty before gluing on flowers. He constructed float with only artist's sketch as guide. Helping him were brother, Melvin, and Pete Hargous, who work with him at yard. More than 75 Burbank youngsters glued on flowers until early morning hours."
