Description
This small, circa-1960 weekly menu from the Espanol Restaurant pre-dates its 1965 move to 5723 Folsom Boulevard. The prices reflect the period when the restaurant and cocktail lounge moved into the Commercial Hotel at Third and I Streets in 1952, after the location at 114 J Street was sold and original owner, Castro Arrate, retired. Chef Joe Trueba and partner Joe Martinez bought the concern and made the move to Third Street, where they continued the regular meals until selling the business in 1959 to brothers Babe and Mario Luigi, who added more Italian cuisine to the menu.
