Description
This small weekly menu from the Espanol Restaurant pre-dates the move to 5723 Folsom Boulevard in 1965. The prices reflect the period when the restaurant and cocktail lounge moved into the Commercial Hotel at Third and I Streets in 1952 after the location at 114 J Street was sold and the original owner Castro Arrate retired. Chef Joe Trueba and partner Joe Martinez bought the concern and made the move to Third Street, where they continued the regular meals until selling the business in 1959 to brothers Babe and Mario Luigi, who added more Italian cuisine to the menu.
