Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Photograph article dated December 21, 1950 partially reads, "'Tom Mix, by a long shot,' said Bob Kortman, sixtyish, leather-faced veteran of more 750 Westerns filmed over a span of four decades. Bob should know, for he's tossed a lasso with just about every big-time celluloid sagebrusher since a movie camera first concentrated on a hoss. 'Mix was the biggest showman ever to hit Hollywood,' Kortman stated. 'He lived his part 24 hours a day, drove a long convertible with a name painted on it, had steer horns on the radiator cap. He wore loud clothes and carried about 30 cowboys on his payroll all the time.'"
