Description
Charles Handy article on the national mood, caring, and creativity, in the wake of Princess Diana's death. Handy hypothesizes that Princess Diana's death granted an opportunity to prove traditional economic theory wrong, specifically the notion that people are all selfish and acquisitive. He proceeds to argue that this new sensitivity to the human condition has been reflected in government attitudes and operation, which, according to Handy, has become more aligned with and responsive to the British people.
