Description
Group photograph on front porch. Three of men (including Mr. Johnston) in uniform of fraternal lodge. Men and women wearing fraternal ribbons. Woman standing in front door thought to be the Johnston's daughter. William Johnston arrived in California with Gold Rush in 1849. Settled on farm south of Sacramento. Served in various offices with People's Saving Bank of Sacramento, as legislator with Senate and Assemby in 1870's and 1880's. Was member of Masons. Mr. Edinger; Also have negative: no. 9872 (4x5 in.) 1990-1663.
