V1p379a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 379 top. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written to right of photo: "Ringing the 'Liberty Bell' in front of the store of Sing Fat Dupont Street on receipt of news of the formation of a Chinese Republic 1910." Photo shows a Chinese man about to ring a large, bowl-like object identified by a sign as the "Liberty Bell." A crowd of mostly white onlookers watches. An auto passes on Dupont at the right; the background is extremely bright. This photo was printed backwards, as evidenced by the "Liberty Bell" and "Sing Fat" signs.
