Description: Varian VA-800 linear beam klystron, introduced in 1955. 1700 to 2400MHz high power klystron; 10KW pulsed output power. Signals magazine, 1955: "With the new series V-42 and VA-800 high power transmitter klystrons, point- to-point microwave propagation beyond-the-horizon is a reality." (Volume 10, Issue 2 - Page 49). This particular klystron's manufacturer label is dated 1959.
