Description
Photo, taken on August 4, 1938, of a hydraulic or suction dredge, at an unknown location along the Sacramento River. A suction or hydraulic dredge was a floating excavator of material from the river bottom, which was then transferred to nearby levees. Refer to works by Edward Dutra in the Sacramento Room.
