This is a photograph of "Fr. Quirk examining the Christians. After the Christians make their Easter Duty, it is the custom for them to register their names and addresses with the missioner. At this time they are asked a few questions in the Doctrine. The purpose is to encourage them to continue the study of the Doctrine." Born in New Hampshire, Fr. Quirk came to Maryknoll in 1926 and was ordained to the priesthood on January 26, 1930. He was assigned to Fushun, Manchuria and remained there until he was repatriated in 1943. He temporarily returned to Kweilin in 1946. He was missioned in Musoma, Africa and later Taiwan.
