Established in 1891, the Los Angeles Law Library is operated under the California Business and Professions Code, Section 6300 et seq. as independent public agency and has a seven-member Board of Trustees and an Executive Director. The Board consists of two attorneys appointed by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and five Superior Court judges appointed by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. The International style library building shown here was designed by architects Austin, Field & Fry and constructed in 1952.
