Photograph article dated March 16, 1961 partially reads, "Ernest Von Neschke of Studio City is a 61-year-old merry-go-round and carnival painter who thinks the Salvation Army is a 'wonderful organization that helps other people.' If he were to phrase it in biblical terms, he might say they are pure in heart. Von Neschke paints merry-go-rounds for money and paints marine oils for pleasure. But for the Salvation Army - for the pure in heart - he's painting a wall-sized portrait of Jesus Christ at the time of the Sermon on the Mount, when He spoke the words in praise of the pure in heart." Mr. Von Neschke will present his painting to Salvation Army in Van Nuys.; See image #00127725 for additional photo in this series.
