Description
Plates in: Mare Island photograph album, pg. [11]. 1991-1160. Shows ship at anchor, several lifeboats beside; Vallejo in background. Steam sloop of war, launched in 1860 by Norfolk Navy Yard, served in Civil War. After War served in Europe, West Indies; in 1874 flagship of South Pacific station.
