Description
Photograph of a children playing in the sand at the feet of a woman carrying a parasol at Newport Beach, ca.1920. The woman is shown just to the right of center, her parasol tilted to the left. She looks down at the three children, all of whose faces are obscured by hats or the camera angle. Foremost, one of two young girls digs a deep trench in the sand, while the other stands just to the side of her. A third child, possibly a boy, builds a small mound and wears a straw hat.
