She was a British-American actress who was popular during World War II, listed as one of America's top-ten box office draws from 1942-1946. She received seven Academy Award nominations, including a record five consecutive nominations, winning the Best Actress award for Mrs. Miniver in 1943. She died in Dallas, Texas on April 6,1996.; Elton H. Rule was born in Stockton, California on June 13, 1916. He was a local television executive in Los Angeles before moving up the ranks to become president of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). He is credited with greatly expanding the network's ratings and revenue during his tenure, from 1972-1983. He died in Beverly Hills, California on May 5, 1990. Photograph caption dated April 24, 1961 reads "Mark Gilchrist (right) receives 'Citizen of the Year' award from Greer Garson and the Valley's Elton H. Rule, vice president and general manager of KABC-TV. Presentation was made at the annual convention of the California Federation of Women's Clubs. Gilchrist was cited for humanitarian aid to orphans throughout the world."
