Granted that our national energy planning has been grossly short-sighted and that we Americans have been criminally negligent in our wastage of resources, the simple inescapable fact is that today we would have all the gasoline we need for our cars, all the heat for our homes, all the oil for our industrial machinery - and would not be threatened with a serious recession -
