Description
Taken from the roof of an adjacent building, this circa 1945 photograph shows the 150,000 dollar Young Men's Christian Association building on the northeast corner of Fifth and J streets or 505 J Street. Dedicated in January 1914, the Spanish Renaissance-style building was designed by E.C. Hemmings who chose a buff-colored pressed brick for the exterior.
