Photograph was edited for publication purposes Alfredo Ramos Marti´nez was born on November 12, 1871 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leo´n, Mexico. He was a painter, muralist, and educator. Considered by many to be the 'Father of Mexican Modernism', Ramos Marti´nez is best known for his paintings of traditional Mexican people and scenes. He died on November 8, 1946. Photograph caption dated January 12, 1962 reads "Ken, 5, and Debbie, 9, foreground, and Sondra, 11, enjoy it." The fresco is by Mexican artist Alfredo Ramos Marti´nez. The owner of the home, in Granada Hills, was good friends with Marti´nez.
