Photograph caption dated March 29, 1962 reads, "Leader Hal Lynch, left, watches while Jo Ekloff and Bob Graves entertain participants at a Valley Center of Arts-sponsored 'Hootenany,' at 5115 Whiteoak Ave., Encino. A 'Hootenany,' for the uninitiated, is a song-fest. The events are attended by young and old, according to Center officials."
