Description
Note: "Königstochter Mamunom Brustbild v.d. Seite. (Wuhrmann, A., 1917. Beschreibung zu den Lichtbildern aus Bamum. E-30-0,6).
Note translation: The King s daughter Mamunom, head and shoulders from the side. Teacher can only give good reports about her pupil Tabea Mamunom . Tabea is the only one of 86 schoolgirls who, in the long years the teacher was in Fumban, never had to be scolded. She was always in her place at the proper time, her clothes and body clean, with the schoolbooks she needed. Her behaviour was always praiseworthy. Her work was impeccable, and the hand-work she did was a model. She had an open ear for the Good News brought by the missionaries - and what was more she had an open heart. She was, in every respect, an adornment for our school. She attended baptismal instruction, but since she was too young (at most 11 years old) she could not be baptised. The war has brought our work on this child to a violent end but the workings of the Holy Spirit will not be halted by this struggle between the peoples. (A. Wuhrmann, 1917, Commentaries to Slides from Bamum, E-30-0,6. K 353).
