Description
Photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on June 27, 1972 states: "The break in the San Joaquin River levee of Andrus Island looked almost tranquil late yesterday after last week's levee failure which created a waterfall as the river ripped through the gap and onto the island, left. Now that the island is flooded, the water levels are equal, minimizing the current flow through the break."
