Original print is of inferior quality.; Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated May 23, 1962 partially reads, "Ever hear of a bus driver whose hobby is driving a bus? Or a doctor who spends his relaxation time giving the neighborhood free medical advice? It's unlikely. Most men relax with something that takes their mind off their profession. Hugh Charles of Toluca Lake is an exception. Food is his profession; food is his hobby. At work, Charles divides his time between the Villa Capri in Hollywood, where he is general manager, and the new Quo Vadis on Crenshaw at Wilshire, where he is associate owner and general manager. At his Woodbridge Ave. home, where he lives with his wife, Irene; daughter, Marlene and son, Hugh (now attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.), Charles's hobby is cooking, and he loves passing on favorite recipes to friends and neighbors." Hugh Charles turns veal after browning.; See image #00131653 for additional photo in this series.
