Description
This 1930 photograph shows graduates of the Keeney School, located at 2200 Twenty-First Street. Established in 1915 by mother and daughter team Susanna and Miriam Keeney, respectively, the school had an enrollment of 75 students when this picture was taken, offering instruction for boys and girls in the grammar grades and girls at the high school level. In addition to traditional academics, the school prided itself on its attention to athletics, particularly swimming, tennis, horseback riding and golf. The school was closed just prior to the 1931/32 academic year.
