Title supplied by cataloger. Archbishop of Los Angeles, James Francis Cardinal McIntyre suspended Dubay for criticizing the Catholic Church and for writing his highly critical book, The Human Church. Two years prior to his suspension, DuBay denounced McIntyre's failure to support civil rights for Black people. Photograph caption dated February 27, 1966 reads, "Father DuBay announces he has been suspended from duties. Priest said action was taken after he had 'refused to be muzzled'."
