Pomona College students Morrill Boynton, C. Howard Ross, and Edmund Pease (left to right) sit on a pile of rocks at the summit of Mount Baldy. In front of them, four walking sticks are arranged in a pattern around a tin can and a hat. Several of rocks are inscribed with the initials of earlier hikers.
