Description
Photograph of a Douglas DC-3 airliner built in Los Angeles County sitting on a runway, 1940-1950. The small airliner is at center and faces to the left. It is an all-metal monoplane with two radial engines and a tail-dragging undercarriage. A row of rectangular windows can be seen along its fuselage. Several illegible numbers and letters are stenciled on the sides and wings of the aircraft, and a small insignia can be seen under the cockpit windows. The runway on which it is parked is marked by tire tracks. There are many trees visible in the background.
