Peter Drucker lectures to his students in an executive management course. Topics discussed during his lecture include: students’ mistakes of thinking of themselves as subordinates and not executives, the importance of managing the boss, employee contributions, taking responsibility for relationships, the command and control element, making choices versus making decisions, company culture as public relations, the success rate of promotions, decision-making in the military, changing one’s approach with a new assignment, the publishing industries’ profits, Drucker’s railroad client in the late 1940s, ritual and purpose, the importance of running trials and having proposals, job changes, perception and understanding, communication and approval, small enterprises as clients, and hiring and contributions.
