Description
Photo--black and white: Two-story Potter School with a distinctive cupola in the town of Bodega. The school was established in 1873 after Sheriff Samuel Potter built it on a portion of his ranch. Classes continued until 1961 when it was slated for demolition but was saved when the school was used as a set in the 1963 film 'The Birds' directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It has since become a popular tourist attraction. It stands across the street from the old Druid Hall. Photo taken by photographer Ron Chamberlain in 1976.
