Account of early life in Hungary to 1905; arrival in New York, 1905; work in garment industry in New York from 1911; her career in the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union from its inception, with comments on communist infiltration, union organization on the west coast, especially in San Francisco, problems with Negro and Chinese ethnic groups; appointment as vice-president of the union, and initiation of health, education, retirement and welfare benefits for the union; observations on national and local politics, and her activity in the Olson campaign; her interest in compulsory health insurance; and her work on the U.S. Manpower Commission.
