Description
This photo shows a man in the laboratory of Calavo Growers of California, with two young women standing on either side of him, looking as he scrapes at a halved avocado. Two other young women can be seen in the background. A crate stamped with "Calavo Brand Avocados" can be seen on a table ledge above conical flasks. A bowl of avocado ice cream is also visible on the tabletop. The Calavo plant is located in the Central Manufacturing District at 4803 Everett Street in Los Angeles.
