Description
Jill McCorkle discusses her novel, “Ferris Beach.” She begins by explaining that her book is about growing up in a small town. She talks about how young adults have to learn to discover their friends and family members. She describes her job teaching writing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. McCorkle says that her personal experiences of living in a small town are not included in the book. She ends the interview by discussing how she wanted to give a voice to the younger generation, and wanted to tell the story of adolescence.
