Photograph article dated July 2, 1963 partially reads, "Nothing save fishing is more gratifying to Eugene Hornbostel than the work which today occupies the American Legion's Valley area relief, disaster and civil defense chairman. His latest assignment is assisting in giving the Los Angeles County Civil Defense program a bigger boost."
