View of a two story wooden building with a basement; 3 sections delineate the view with the center section jutting out from the flanking two sections; center section has pillasters on each side and central window banks with 5 windows on each story; 1st floor windows are taller than 2nd floor; two flanking sections have same arrangements of windows with but 4 windows in each window bank; above all 1st floor windows is a lintel supported by corbels; central section has hipped roof while 2 flanking section are flat roofed. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "erected in 1871, torn down in 1934.Stood at the corner of 10th & P street. Front view on P street."
