Photo--black and white: The IOGT building and Post Office in Sebastopol circa 1897. Sebastopol's Independent Order of Good Templars was founded 1889. Numerous men stand in front of the Post Office and several women stand to the right of them. Background: The IOGT is an international non-governmental organisation working in the field of temperance or total abstinence of alcohol. Unlike many organizations of it's time it admitted men and women equally, and also made no distinction by race.
