Description
Hand-carved Almaden Vineyards sign: "Hand carved by A. Zeller San Juan Batista, California." A: Almaden sign carved to look like a scroll. Gold letters, surrounded by green grapes and leaves. B: Oval shaped sign featuring the year of the vineyard's founding "1852" and a French explorerer in the middle with a heart and fleur-de-lis. Near the bottom is gold banner labeled: "Almaden."Surrounding elements include grapes and leaves. Artist signature at the bottom: "Zeller." Three iron bands around the perimeter of the sign. C: Oval shaped sign featuring an explorer's helmet or a shield with 2 eagles and 2 crosses. Near the bottom is gold banner labeled: "Almaden." Surrounding elements include grapes and leaves. At the bottom is a brass point protruding from the sign over "1852." Three iron bands around the perimeter of the sign. D: Wood cradle to hold one of the oval signs.
