Description
Photograph of San Francisco earthquake damage, showing burnt ruins of automobiles and carriages, 1906. The broken metal frame of an automobile lies in a patch of dirt in the foreground with a brick path lying across behind it. Two mangled carriages lie in piles behind the path. A man in a suit and a woman in a dress view the wreckage from a sidewalk behind the carriages. A metal fence behind them contains a grass yard and the remains of a stone building. Heavily damaged skyscrapers can be seen standing over the background.
