Photograph of a Wright biplane on the runway at the Dominguez Hills Air Meet, 1912. The aircraft is at center and is a frail, wood-and-canvas contraption with two propellers connected to an engine via bicycle chains. Five men are running to the plane. The runway is dirt and is marked by broad chalk lines. A large scoreboard is visible in the distance at center. The shadows of several people are on the edge of the photograph at left.
