Description
"Dan Dye. The bit of lattice I had saved for you went to the censor. If you look through or at this from a distance you can see the trees on the lawn beyond the marble lattice. This was near Agra." A lattice panel with shapes on the other side discernable through it.
Daniel Dye, a faculty member at West China Union University, traveled widely to document Chinese woodworking and latticework. This photo was likely sent to him by a colleague who knew of his interests.
