Photograph article dated January 25, 1965 partially reads, "A momentuous [sic] occasion that took place last Wednesday, in addition to the inauguration, was the surprise that John Hawkins, retiring manager of Sears, Valley Plaza store, received when the staff presented him with a giant scroll and a beautiful Silvertone console color TV set to keep him entertained after he has retired from his very active management role. He has been in charge og [sic] the stare [sic] since its opening day fourteen years ago. Hawkins has been with Sears, Roebuck for a total of 32 years. Over 100 employes [sic] gathered to wish their manager a full and happy live of pleasure."
