Description
Lee de Forest looks at a tube component at an exhibit of aeronautical controls, including a Selector Control, in front of a poster-size photograph of an atomic bomb explosion seen from a tropical coastline. An [Air Force] officer stands next to de Forest, smiling and holding another piece of equipment. "Bikini Atom" has been written in pen at the top of the photograph (reference to Bikini Atoll experiments).
