Description
Jay Martin discusses his book, “Who Am I This Time?” He begins by explaining how people can adopt personalities based on fictitious characters they read about or see on television. He talks about how this disorder strongly affects neglected children who feel a void in their lives. He gives several examples of people who adopted fictive personalities such as President Ronald Reagan and author Jean-Paul Sartre. Martin discusses his experience with treating fictive personalities and his career as a psychoanalyst. He ends the interview by talking about signs that parents should watch for if they believe their child has a fictive personality.
