Description: An old logging "feather bed" used to hold logged sequoias. The surrounding ground is covered in sequioa bark. These piles are located in the Big Stump Basin, a section of General Grant's Grove that was logged at one time. This grove, along with the rest of General Grant National Park, was added to Kings Canyon National Park in an effort to preserve this grove of giant sequoias.
