Photograph caption dated April 24, 1980 reads, "Carrying signs and chanting, "Hell no, we won't go," student demonstrators at Cal State Northridge yesterday confront a military recruiter. About 350 students protested a sign-up drive on campus where all branches of the military were invited by school officials to set up information tables. The demonstrators yelled and pushed at the recruiters and overturned one of the tables. No arrests were made. Although recruiters were allowed to bring some of their equipment onto the campus - such as a helicopter, anti-aircraft guns, missile launchers and small firearms - school officials later asked them to remove the weapons. The recruiters said they got about 20 students to sign up for more information."
