Ezequiel Padilla, Mexico's Secretary for Foreign Relations and former Washington ambassador, visited Los Angeles in May, 1945. During his visit, he was honored at a special Cinco de Mayo ceremony held at Los Angeles City Hall.
Dr. Ezequiel Padilla greets people as he walks east on Brooklyn Avenue (later renamed Ce´sar Cha´vez Avenue) where it crosses N. Gage Avenue in the Los Angeles County community of City Terrace.
