Description: Image of a crowd watching a beauty contestant modeling a bathing suit and standing next to a musical band at the Deauville Club in Santa Monica, California, the Santa Monica Pier and the La Monica Ballroom can be seen in the distance.
Title devised by cataloger; date devised by cataloger based on opening of the Deauville Club in 1927 and construction of the breakwater in 1934. The crane and flat-bottom barge at the end of the Santa Monica Pier was used to build the breakwater in 1934.
