Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989
Nicknamed "Bulldog," Orel Hershiser brought toughness to the mound with every start. He enjoyed a magical season in 1988, when he broke Don Drysdale's record with 59 consecutive scoreless innings; led the league in wins, innings and complete games; and then capped the year by leading the Dodgers to the World Series. Photograph dated July 30, 1984.
