Photograph article dated January 10, 1951 reads, "Gary Davis - Auto Promoter's Fate In Jury's Hands - Charged with 24 counts of grand theft involving $60,000 in franchise sales for his three-wheel automobile, Promoter Gary Davis' fate rested in the hands of a jury today in Superior Judge John J. Ford's court. His trial before the 10 women and two men on the jury had consumed three months and 5200 pages of testimony. Deputy District Attorney Mark Brandler called 90 witnesses for the prosecution. Davis was defended by Deputy Public Defender Richard Buckley. The state charged that Davis collected $1,100,000, but produced only 15 hand-made cars. During the trial the jury was taken to witness a demonstration of the Davis three-wheeler by Davis himself."
