He is seemingly gesturing while narrating. Handwriting on the back of one copy reading: "Alter Zulu von m. Großeltern erzählend. Ekuhlengeni" ("Old Zulu telling about my grandparents. Ekuhlengeni"). Handwriting on the back of the other copy reading: "’Umyazi Zulu’, leider noch Heide, trotzdem er sich von den alten Missionaren Filter, Schroeder, Wolff, Volker, Köneke u. Stallbom zu erzählen weiß. Er wohnt seit seiner Geburt in der Nähe von oder auf der Ekuhlengeni Missionsstation am ? Umholozi. Hier erzählt er."
