Description
"We now pass to a brighter side of things, and to tell how that darkness is being dispelled. This shows you one of the village outschools held daily at a village three miles away, & worked by a senior, and two junior teachers with Mrs Watson supervising the whole. This photo shows Mrs Watson in the centre of a group of little village children, whom she and the teachers are seeking to tell of the love of Jesus." Group portrait of Mrs Watson and her students. ❧ "This Lecture was prepared by Dr J.W. Arthur in October 1911 on his voyage to Mombasa. The set of slides is the gift to the Kikuyu Mission of the Young Peoples Meeting at the Burgh Hall, Hillhead, of which he was for many years a member." A green folder marked 'Kikuyu' and containing lecture notes and relevant photographs to accompany lantern slides.
